Getting Ready for Christmas

I love having the house decorated for Christmas it really gets you in the Christmas Spirit. However the time it takes and the mess to get there I do not really love. This is what it looks like as we get all the stuff out to decorate. What a mess!!! Eventually everything finds a place and the house looks ready for Christmas.

The 2 week Dog.

I am not so sure I should be posting this. I don't know if I want it to be remembered. However I kinda do want my kids to remember that I tried to be a dog person once.

So here it goes. For a few years now my kids ask me about once a month if we can get a dog. I almost always say no or mabey when you are older. I don't know what got into me, mabey it was the holiday spirit or something. One day when they asked me "Can we get a dog please" I said mabey that would be a good idea and started looking online for a dog. A few days later Doug brought home Maggie, a 8 week old 2 pound tiny puppie.

I know as you look at these pictures you think ohh! That is such a cute puppie, and she is a cute puppie. The kids loved her. So I tried really really hard to be a dog person. I did I promise. No matter how hard I tried I just could not enjoy being a dog owner. I felt bad locking her in her crate when we left, I felt like I had to entertain the puppy all the time and, don't even get me started on potty training. I don't even like to potty train my kids. So anyway after a little less than 2 weeks we sold her. I am sorry kids I hope some day you will at least remember that I tried.

Thanksgiving 2009

This year was an off year for most of my family so it was just us, Kyle and my parents.
We decided that since it was just us, who wanted to do all that cooking. Can you say Golden Corral! All you can eat, no cooking and no clean-up what could be better.

After the food we needed some exercise so we went bowling, Look at those faces they are ready to bowl.Check out everyones form.

Disney's Princeses on Ice
Since just the princeses were coming for Disney on Ice we decided to make it a girls night.
Me, Mary, our Mom, Maddie and Lacey (and Austin)went to see the show. We had tons of fun with just the girls.

We are a little crazy so we made matching T-Shirts
Lacey dressed up as Tinkerbell and Maddie was Belle

After the show we went out for a treat.
Who doesn't love Ice Cream

Since it was just the girls after a few spoonfuls we gave up on manners and just licked it out of the bowl.

Halloween 2009

Halloween 2009
Happy Halloween

What are you supposed to be? This is the question we always get when Doug wears this costum. I am really not sure what he is, but he looks cool.

Every year we always have to carve the pumpkins. Here is Lacey this year she thought she was big enough to use the knife herself. She is definatly in the I do it Stage.

Tyson really got into cleaning out his pumpkin.

Zack tried to actually get in his pumpkin.
It looks like everyone is ready to go Trick-or -Treating

Mary, Tony, and the kids came and went Trick-or Treating with us. Look at these two cute cousins and best friends.
After all the fun the little kids were to tired to walk, the big kids were to but since every inch of the wagon was taken they had to walk.
I just like this picture of Nick. Doesn't he look scary!

After the Trick-or-Treating we had a bonfire and made Smores. YUMMMMM!!!
Happy Halloween 2009 Everyone.

Pine Wood Derby 2009

This is the first year that we have got to participate in the pine wood derby.
Nick and Doug had a lot of fun making his car. This being our first year we were not quit up to date on all the cool stuff you need to do to win, however Doug and Nick learned a lot of good tricks and tips and next year all the boys better watch out.

Here is Nick with his car.
